UNHCR Jobs Employment Details

Purpose and Scope of Assignment:
- Provides interpretation during RSD, resettlement, and complementary pathway interviews with persons of concern to UNHCR and for other protection work as needed.
- Translates documents to support RSD, resettlement, and complementary pathways cases, as well as other protection-related documents as needed.
- Travels with RSD-RST and CPW staff on missions to the field for interpretation and other assistance, as needed.
- Ensures accuracy of terms and terminology used by persons of concern to UNHCR during interviews and in translated documents.
- Ensures translations are written with style, correct grammar and spelling.
- Provides RSD, resettlement and complementary pathway counselling to, and respond to queries from asylum seekers and refugees, including in the context of the notification of decisions on individuals’ cases.
- Conducts phone screening and identification interviews for RSD-RST and CPW case processing when required in accordance with RSD-RST standard operation procedures and other guidance documents.
- Prepares written documentation for completing phone screening and identification forms for RSD-RST and CPW cases and submits them for review to senior managers.
- Ensures the database (proGres) and all electronic records / efiles for individual cases are updated in a systematic and timely manner, ensuring the integrity of the data.
- Assists with post-submission activities such as ongoing counselling, batch updates in the database (proGres), liaising with relevant actors as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
